24.5-Inch Commercial Truck Tires: New, Used & Recap Availability Guide

A 24.5-inch wheel can use more than one commercial tire size, so dispatch cannot identify the correct replacement from wheel diameter alone. The complete sidewall size and tire position must be confirmed before service.

24.5-inch inventory rules

For commercial 24.5-inch applications, new tires are available and used or recap options may also be available, subject to the exact size, application, tire position and current inventory. No specific 24.5 sidewall size should be represented as stocked until it is verified.

Steer, drive and trailer position

The same wheel diameter does not make every tire interchangeable. Dispatch should know whether the failed tire is on a steer axle, drive axle or trailer and should confirm the required specification before replacement.

What to report

Read the complete sidewall marking, identify the axle position, provide the truck or trailer type, give the breakdown location and report any rim, hub, wheel-seal, brake or suspension damage.
