Commercial 17.5- and 19.5-inch tire applications are common on many medium-duty trucks, box trucks, delivery vehicles and specialized commercial equipment. For Mobile Truck Trailer Tire Roadside Repair, these wheel-size categories are serviced with new commercial tires only. Used and recap availability applies only to qualifying 22.5- and 24.5-inch commercial applications, not to 17.5 or 19.5.

17.5 and 19.5 are wheel-size categories, not complete tire sizes

A caller who says only “I need a 19.5” has not provided enough information to identify the tire. Dispatch needs the complete sidewall size and the tire position. Our commercial truck tire-size hub explains how wheel-size categories fit into the complete sidewall marking and why the entire size should be read before dispatch.

Why tire position matters

The same vehicle may use different tire requirements depending on whether the failed position is steer, drive or another commercial axle position. Tell dispatch exactly where the tire is located and whether the tire is single or part of a dual assembly. Do not assume a tire can be substituted solely because the wheel diameter matches.

What to send before a Jupiter roadside tire call

  • Clear photo of the complete tire sidewall size.

  • Steer, drive or trailer position and left/right side.

  • Vehicle type: box truck, delivery truck, commercial pickup, trailer or other unit.

  • Exact Jupiter or Indiantown Road location, cross street, yard or map pin.

  • Photos of the rim and wheel end if the blowout caused visible damage.

  • Any heat, smoke, oil leakage or unusual bearing/hub symptoms.

New-only inventory for these categories

For 17.5- and 19.5-inch commercial applications, we do not advertise used or recap tires. The exact new tire still depends on the complete size, application and current inventory. Providing the full sidewall information before dispatch is the best way to confirm the correct replacement.

A blowout may require more than a tire

A failed tire can damage a rim, air line, mud flap, wiring or wheel-end components. If the tire separated violently or the wheel area is hot, leaking or visibly damaged, mention that before the service vehicle arrives so the call can be prepared for as a tire-plus-mechanical issue.
